American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) CEUs

It is for fitness professionals to improve their competency and actively practice allyship to affirm and create a safe wellness environment for LGBTQIA+ clients. The LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Fitness course will teach fitness professionals how to actively dismantle the binary, homophobic, fatphobic, transphobic, racist and ableist lens of exercise science which historically has played a role in fitness service participation among this population. Participants will learn strategies for creating an equitable, ethical and affirming culture, safety considerations during physical activity for gender diverse clients and improving health outcomes for folks who are gender and/or relationship diverse. To become a LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Fitness Professional participants will complete each of the modules asynchronously as well as pass the quiz associated with the material and a final exam. The course is approximately 10 hours in length and offers 1.0 American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) CEUs. *This course is pending approval for ACE Fitness Ethics Course Credit.
