Implications and ABA Practice Considerations for COVID 19

Abstract: The CDC is still learning about how the virus spreads and the severity of illness it causes. Informing the population about the health risks posed by the coronavirus disease, as well as what they can do to protect themselves and others, is the best way to mitigate the spread and reduce the amount of further contagion cases. As US states reopen, schools begin either online, virtual, or a hybrid model, and more and more practitioners go back to direct intervention, it is imperative practitioners become fluent in best public health practices to slow the spread and keep the public at large safe. COVID19 has caused significant concern for ABA practitioners and implementation of behavior analytic service to an at-risk population. In a three-part series, participants will learn about the virus, practice considerations within ABA, risk migration, where and how to locate up to date and accurate information, and how the virus is affecting clients with marginalized identities across school setting. The CE will be led by a licensed and board-certified behavior analyst and ACE provider and a doctor of public health, certified in contract tracing of COVID19.
